Who we are
Seen NC ("we," "us") is an independent website operated by ClarityForge, based in North Carolina, United States, at seennc.com. This policy explains what we collect and why. Questions: [email protected].
What we collect
- Your location — only if you tap "use my location." It's used to sort offices by distance, and we keep an anonymous copy of just the coordinates plus a timestamp — no name, no account, no IP address, no device info, nothing that ties a point to you — so we can see where people need the DMV and how many are actually at an office. If you don't tap the button, we never receive your location; we just use the general starting point you pick from the list.
- Your email address — only if you choose to sign up for something that asks for it (for example, future alerts). There are no user accounts and no passwords.
- Basic usage & device data — like most websites, our servers record standard technical information (IP address, browser type, pages viewed) to keep the site secure and understand what's useful.
- Preferences — choices like your transaction type and starting location are stored locally in your own browser so the site remembers them. That data stays on your device.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information, and we don't ask for payment details — Seen NC never takes a booking or a payment.
Installing the app
Seen NC can be added to your home screen as a lightweight app. Installing it doesn't grant us any new access — it's the same website in an app wrapper, and location still only leaves your device if you tap the button (and then only as anonymous coordinates). When you're done with a DMV run, you can delete it; nothing that identifies you lives on after you do.
Cookies & similar technologies
We use a small number of cookies and local storage for essential functions (remembering your preferences), for basic analytics (measuring traffic), and for affiliate attribution (so a lodging partner knows a booking came from us). You can block or clear cookies in your browser; the core site will still work.
How we use your information
- To operate, secure, maintain, and improve the site.
- To measure aggregate traffic and understand which features are useful.
- To credit our lodging partners when you book through a link, so we can earn the commission that keeps the site free.

Affiliate links & third-party services
Seen NC participates in affiliate and travel-partner programs. When you tap a lodging deal, you're taken to a third-party site (such as a hotel or booking provider) to complete your reservation. Those sites have their own privacy policies and terms, and your information there is governed by them, not by us. We may receive a commission on bookings made through our links. We also rely on standard providers to run the site, such as our hosting/CDN and website analytics.
Office wait data comes from the North Carolina DOT's public wait-time feed. We are not affiliated with NCDOT, and reading that public feed does not involve any information about you.
What we don't do
We don't sell or rent your personal information. We don't share your email with advertisers. We only disclose information if required by law or to protect the security and integrity of the site.
Your choices & rights
- Location — you can revoke the site's location permission in your browser at any time. Anything we did keep is anonymous coordinates only, with nothing that could identify you, so there's no personal record to delete.
- Access or delete your data — email [email protected] and we'll handle requests about any personal information we hold.
- Cookies — manage or clear them through your browser settings at any time.
Children's privacy
This site is intended for adults handling DMV business and is not directed to children under 16. We don't knowingly collect information from children.
